Terms of Service

Last updated: July 26, 2026

1. Who we are

PressWax ("we", "us") is a service operated by CodeAlpha, LLC that generates original songs from text descriptions and lyrics using artificial intelligence. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts & credits

Song generation is paid for with credits; one credit corresponds to roughly one second of finished audio. New accounts receive a one-time grant of free credits. Subscription plans add a monthly credit allowance. Unused credits roll over while your subscription is active. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or redeemed for money.

3. Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis through Stripe, and charges may include applicable sales tax. Annual plans are billed once per year and grant a full year of credits upfront. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal; cancellation stops future charges and your subscription remains active until the end of the paid period. Charges appear on your statement as PRESSWAX. If a charge fails, we may pause credit grants until payment succeeds.

4. Your content and your songs

You keep whatever rights you hold in the lyrics and descriptions you submit. Subject to these terms and applicable law, we assign to you all rights we may hold in the audio and cover art generated for your account, including for commercial use. Because songs are AI-generated, we cannot guarantee they are eligible for copyright registration in your jurisdiction, and similar outputs may be generated for other users from similar prompts.

Your library is private: other users cannot browse it, and we do not sell your songs or license them to anyone else. The one exception is our own promotion of PressWax, described in the next section, which you can switch off for any song.

5. The Song Board

The Song Board is a public page where songs can be listened to by anyone, including people without a PressWax account. We also sometimes feature songs elsewhere when we talk about PressWax — on our own website or social accounts, for example.

The permission you give us. Unless you switch it off for a song, you grant CodeAlpha, LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, stream, publicly perform and publicly display that song, its cover art and its title, together with the credit shown for it (see Credit below), for two purposes only: running the Song Board, and promoting PressWax. The licence includes the right to pass those permissions to the providers who host and deliver the files for us. It does not let us sell your song, license it to anyone else for their own use, or claim it as our own work.

How to switch it off. Every song has a "Keep this song out of promotion" control on its page in your library. Turn it on and that song is excluded — we will not put it on the Song Board or use it anywhere else, and if it is already on the board we take it down. You can do this at any time, before or after a song has been featured, for as many songs as you like, and you never have to give a reason. If you would rather exclude everything you make, tell us and we will set that on your account.

You keep ownership. This permission changes nothing about who owns the song. It is non-exclusive, so you remain free to use, sell, license, register or distribute it however you like, including commercially, exactly as if we had never featured it.

We choose what appears, and you are never obliged to appear. Nothing is published automatically. Every song is reviewed by a person before it goes anywhere, and we may decline any song for any reason or none. Being eligible does not mean being published, and being published is not permanent — we may remove anything at any time.

Credit. A featured song is credited to your username by default, so the person who made it gets the credit. You can change that in two ways: set a different display name on an individual song from its page, or switch attribution off entirely in your account settings, in which case your songs show as "Anonymous". We never publish your email address.

No payment. Featuring is unpaid. You are not owed royalties, fees or other compensation for a song appearing on the Song Board or in our promotion.

Two practical limits when you switch a song off. Copies already downloaded by other people are outside our control, and promotional material already published before you excluded the song may remain in circulation for a time. We will stop using it going forward.

What you are confirming. That you have the right to the song and everything in it, including any lyrics you supplied; that it does not infringe anyone's rights; and that it does not identify or expose another person in a way they have not agreed to. If a song contains something private — about you or about anyone else — switch it off for that song. If you are unsure whether you would want strangers to hear it, switch it off.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use PressWax to: impersonate a real artist's voice or pass off songs as recordings by a real person; submit lyrics you don't have the right to use; generate content that is unlawful, hateful, or harassing; or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service. We may moderate, decline, or remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules. Credits charged for songs blocked by moderation are automatically refunded to your balance.

7. Service quality

AI music generation is probabilistic: results vary, and a given prompt may not produce the song you imagined. Credits pay for the generation attempt, not a guaranteed artistic outcome. Failed generations (technical errors) are automatically refunded to your credit balance.

8. Refunds

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable once the billing period has begun, except where required by law or at our discretion. Contact us and we'll try to make it right.

9. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeAlpha, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
